Inside Target's Smallest Stores

We’re nearing the 2 year anniversary of Target Express. Technically Target dropped the word “express” from its name last year, but it’s still a serves as a quick place to get a Target shopping experience.

Tailored mostly to city dwellers and students, TargetExpress features an edited assortment of merchandise, including more grab-and-go food and snacks, limited apparel, and electronics near the front. At this store, you’ll find the assortment focuses more on owned brands and opening price point options for the cash-strapped students in the area.

Since many of this store’s guests walk or bike to this location, Target is thoughtful in what you might want to carry home for example, smaller pack sizes in commodities.

You won’t find the big red shopping carts that you’re used to – this store has baskets and smaller carts for more frequent purchases. Even the check out line looks more like something you’d see at a Walgreens or CVS.

And don’t forget to take a selfie with Bullseye, the Target dog, sporting Minnesota gear!
