Our opportunities to give back to the community
The holiday season is filled with opportunities to give back to the community, and at Jacobs Marketing, the Outreach Committee made sure our calendars were filled!
Tie Blankets for People Serving People People Serving People is the region’s largest and most comprehensive family-focused homeless shelter, which provides opportunities for companies, families and individuals to volunteer their time and resources in a variety of different ways. Our Jacobs Marketing Team chose 2 of organization’s volunteer options - making Tie Blankets and collecting something we were able to do right in our office. The supplies were spread throughout meeting rooms, so the team could easily work on them throughout the day.
People Serving People is always in need of blankets, using them in their infant/toddler rooms, and including them as part of a move-out basket when families find housing in the community.
In the end, our team was able to donate 8 blankets, and delivered them to the extremely grateful facility managers at People Serving People! Since the need for blankets is constant, this is a volunteer project that the Jacobs Marketing Team plans to continue participating in several times throughout the year.
Toys for Tots Toys for Tots is an organization that Jacobs Marketing collects for every holiday season. Once again this year, our donation box was overflowing with gifts to be distributed to the less fortunate youth in our community. The Toys for Tots mission is for these gifts to be received with a message of hope, which will assist the recipients in becoming responsible, productive and patriotic citizens. The Jacobs Marketing Team is proud to be able contribute to this great organization.
Project for Pride in Living A new contribution we made this year was to an organization called Project for Pride in Living. This non-profit organization is dedicated to empowering low-income people to become self-reliant through integrated services. Jacobs Marketing was able to make donations of products that will provide new mothers at PPL with new baby baskets. These donations included new items such as diapers/wipes/ointment, picture books, safe crib toys, blanket, hats/socks, baby soap, bibs and an inspirational note for each basket.
Happy Hour Squared (HH2) The Team participated in HH2 for the first time in October, and we enjoyed it so much that that we’ve kept it on our calendars as a monthly occurrence! HH2 is “Happy Hour with a Purpose” and has made more than 15,000 sandwiches for the local homeless community.
