As we celebrate International Women's Day today, the Jacobs team joins the world in honoring women and their impact. As a certified Woman Owned Business, we stand by #BalanceforBetter. We believe that our business, our team, and our partners must lead this change for gender equality and is critical to our success. Every day, we have the privilege to build a diverse, engaging, and culture of respect and empowerment.
Category Manager, Rachel Gaynor, shares a favorite quote about what International Women's Day means to her, “Let’s teach our daughters it’s not about being beautiful. Teach them to be bold. Be silly. Be strong. Be confident. Be independent and intelligent. Be brave and be fierce. Be real in a world full of fake.”
Last year, we shared our story about becoming a Certified Women Owned Business from Sr. Merchandising Specialist, Signe Anderson. Today has even more meaning for her as she is able to see the results of her work on achieving certification for Jacobs. "International Women’s Day is particularly special for me this year as it’s the first time I’ve celebrated while working for a Women Owned Business," explains Signe, "I am so thankful to work in a place where gender bias isn’t always top of mind. Not only are the women in leadership at Jacobs talented, strong and inspiring, but the balance of women in leadership at Jacobs is amazing. Women make up the majority of our leadership team! This majority not only helps our company culture to uplift and support our women employees, it also mitigates the risk of gender bias in the office, which happens more when women are under-represented in leadership roles."
On International Women’s Day, and every day, we recognize the work that the women and men of the Jacobs team do together to make #BalanceforBetter a reality.
